Data-Driven Storytelling: A Data Journalism Portfolio

In an era where content saturation is the norm, only the most credible, data-backed narratives break through the noise. I served as a data analyst and survey architect on a collaborative marketing team specializing in strategic data journalism campaigns, projects designed not just to inform, but to establish authoritative industry voices that earn media placements, academic citations, and high-quality backlinks from trusted sources.
Our mission was straightforward yet challenging: transform complex business questions into compelling data stories that top-tier publications, niche industry media, and academic institutions would want to reference and share.

The Process: From Strategic Questions to Publishable Insights
Each project began with strategic consultation among team members to identify the questions that best fit and mattered most to our clients' audiences and industries. From there, my primary contributions centered on:

Survey Design & Implementation:

Crafting methodologically sound surveys that would yield statistically significant, newsworthy insights

Data Analysis & Visualization:

Transforming raw data into clear, compelling findings that told a story

Statistical Validation:

Ensuring all claims were defensible, accurate, and ethically presented

Insight Documentation & Visualization:

Presenting analysis in formats ready for publication and media outreach

This portfolio showcases the analytical work and data-driven insights that formed the backbone of each campaign.
The following pieces represent campaigns where rigorous data analysis met strategic storytelling projects that demonstrate how well-executed data journalism doesn’t just generate clicks but builds lasting authority.

Note on Attribution: The data analysis, survey design, and statistical findings presented in these pieces represent some of my core contributions to each project while a collaborative member of this marketing team. Narrative framing, contextual updates, reposting and content repurposing often occur after the data journalism project is delivered.
